According to the National Health and Wellness Survey, 16.4 million adults in the US have been diagnosed with Dry Eye. This issue is especially prevalent in Colorado due to the high elevation and climate.

 

Dry eye is multifactorial, and risk factors include environmental factors, age, smoking, electronics, contact lens wear, certain medications and certain conditions (arthritis, diabetes, rosacea, autoimmune conditions and more)

Dry eye causes as a wide range of symptoms, but common symptoms include:

  • Burning

  • Irritation

  • Redness

  • Tearing

  • Watering

  • Intermittently blurry vision

  • Sandy feeling
